Designer Of The Month - Georges Briard

If you love mid-century design then Georges Briard is a name you should know! Born in Poland, Jascha Brodjo (born Jakub Brodjo) emigrated to the US in 1937 and studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago. While his paintings are signed with Jascha Brodjo, Georges Briard is the signature name he used as one of the most well-known designers of mid-century home goods. He was an artist and an award-winning designer of mid-century housewares including dishware, glassware, and gold-plated serving dishes sold in high end dept stores during from the 1950’s to the 1970’s.
